Canada is known for its genuine hospitality and, in 2015, visitors to Toronto will receive a warm welcome when they are greeted by the Union Pearson Express.

The innovative rail link service will connect the country's two busiest transportation hubs, Toronto Pearson International Airport and Union Station in downtown Toronto, with each one-way trip taking approximately 25 minutes. Taking to the tracks in time for the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games in summer 2015, the service will combine the easy convenience of rail travel with graceful design and superior service.

We believe that a comfortable and exciting travel experience need not begin or end at the departure gate.

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to our website, and invite you to get to know more about an exciting new service that will elevate the way Torontonians experience our city – and the way the world experiences Toronto.

From the time they board our shuttles, our guests will enjoy a true Ontario welcome: warm, inviting and designed to reflect the natural and cultural riches our province has to offer. Our service will make getting to and from Toronto Pearson an easy, reliable experience, during which travellers can ride in comfort and, yes, a little bit of style – secure in the knowledge that they’ll reach their destination in 25 minutes.

The Union Pearson Express is about more than transporting passengers swiftly and efficiently, or relieving traffic congestion and commuter headaches. It’s about who we are as a city and as a province. It’s about comfort, convenience, and a memorable guest experience. It’s about the pride we feel when we showcase our beautiful city to the world. The Union Pearson Express will cement Toronto’s place as an important global centre, and is just one more demonstration of how Metrolinx is transforming transportation through The Big Move. A Clear Vision

The Union Pearson Express will be more than just a train service, it will be a symbol of Ontario’s ongoing progress and of Toronto’s increasing importance on the world stage. When the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games thrusts the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area into the international spotlight, the Union Pearson Express will be there to welcome the world.

Simply put, our mission is to transform the way people travel between Toronto Pearson and downtown, and to elevate the way they experience the city along the way.

Our guest experience will set a new standard – thoughtful, intuitive, and clearly putting the customer first. Our operations will be uniformly excellent, providing safe, efficient and stress-free service. Our customers will see the benefits of constant innovation – new technologies that will make their experience consistently better, driven by our commitment to continuous improvement. We’ll collaborate with government and other stakeholders to promote economic development, tourism and community outreach. And we’ll do it all on-budget and on-time, leveraging the experience and expertise of the Metrolinx.

Travel on a Different Level

Promising passengers an effortless experience, the Union Pearson Express will rise above the traffic on a purpose-built spur track extension. Union Pearson Express stations will be easy to navigate for those just off a long-haul flight, and will offer well-appointed and calm areas to pass any brief wait. The new stations, Toronto Pearson Terminal 1 and Union Station, will be sleek and modern but also warm and welcoming. They will be made from steel, concrete, glass and, most attractively, plenty of handsome Canadian timber.

Comfort

The Union Pearson Express team will thoughtfully ensure that all of our guests experience a relaxing and enjoyable journey. From headrests to lighting, every detail of our shuttles is being designed with our guests' comfort in mind. This customer focus will extend to our stations, with handy travel amenities to look after our guests from start to finish.

Speed, Convenience & Reliability

As you enjoy 25 traffic-free minutes on the Union Pearson Express, you will glide past some of the world's busiest highways on your way to or from Toronto Pearson. With shuttles departing from both Toronto Pearson and Union Station every 15 minutes during airport hours, seven days a week, you can rest assured that you will get to your gate on time.

An Ontario Welcome

The 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games will bring spectators and participants from around the world to Toronto, and the Union Pearson Express will be ready to provide a warm and convenient welcome to the city. For years to come, that welcome will be extended to visitors from around the globe, the country and the province, providing stress-free access to the many tourist and cultural venues the city has to offer, and helping to promote the region as a preferred tourist destination. The Union Pearson Express will also enhance the city’s status as a globally competitive economic hub, allowing it to join the ranks of leading global financial centres that already have similar links between downtown and their airports such as London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
