Toronto Light Festival
One of the most popular things to do in Toronto in winter, the Toronto Light Festival, is entering its third year in the Distillery District. It’s a glowing showcase of incredible local and international light artists. Get outside and get inspired as you walk the streets of this Victorian neighbourhood. The Toronto Light Festival runs January 18 to March 3, 2020, and really shouldn’t be missed. It’s an illuminating experience. (Er… Sorry.)
Toronto Botanical Garden
Enjoy some nature this season! (Really.) Toronto Botanical Garden offers an array of award-winning themed gardens. Adjacent to Wilket Creek, Don Valley Ravine and Edwards Gardens, these warm and wonderful spaces offer a range of learning experiences for all ages – even in winter. You can take in gardening events, innovative indoor/outdoor dining experience, music series, and much more!
Tobogganing!
It’s all down-hill this winter… And that’s a good thing. Toronto has some pretty incredible tobogganing hills you can take advantage of. All you need is snow and something to sit on, and you’ve got yourselves hours and hours of free fun. Some Toronto highlights? Think Riverdale Park East, High Park, Trinity Bellwoods (West Queen West) and the mighty hill at Centennial Park (Mississauga). Other notables include Christie Pits (West Annex), Withrow Park (Riverdale), Crestview Park (Midtown) and even Pine Point (Etobicoke). Seriously, there’s no end to the downhill fun!
