Toronto’s Best Holiday Dinner Delivery Options
The 2020 holidays will be a little different. We may have to break with long-held traditions and gather only with members of our household, as we celebrate the year that was and consider the promise of what’s to come. As 2020 draws to a close, you definitely deserve a break. So, why not take some stress out of the celebrations and stay out of the kitchen. A ton of local Toronto restaurants and caterers are now offering amazing prepared Christmas & holiday meals for curbside pick-up or contactless delivery. So, just order your turkey – or other tasty options – for delivery in Toronto, and enjoy your 2020 holidays!
Remember: Locations may have specific schedules for take-out and pick-up due to changing restrictions.
The Fairmont Royal York Hotel
If you’re looking for a spectacular holiday spread, look no further than Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York – it’s become the mainstay for many who don’t mind doing the eating, but would prefer not to do the cooking during the holidays. Executive Chef, JW Foster and his culinary team have prepared your entire festive meal (turkey or ham) with all of the trimmings. You can order Christmas dinner for delivery before December 22 with staggered pick-up times in Toronto throughout the week. Plus, $5 from each order will be donated to Make-A-Wish Canada. So, eat well and do good.
Momofuku – Kojin and Noodle Bar
Inspired by Chef de Cuisine Eva Chin’s upbringing in Singapore and Hawaii, the menu at Toronto restaurant Momofuku Kojin is described as a love letter to island cooking and a celebration of global cuisines. And you can celebrate the holidays at home in Toronto this year with prepared Christmas dinner meals that will take the stress out of holiday cooking – deliciously – with boards or bundles you can order to pop into the oven at home. Or, try the Momofuku Noodle Bar, where Chef Hans Vogels offers amazing dishes like his KFC – Korean Fried Chicken – and so much more. Both Toronto restaurants are offering a ton of inspired treats from chefs at the top of their game.
The Lakeview Restaurant
Featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins & Dives!, The Lakeview Restaurant is a Dundas West landmark. This holiday, the Toronto restaurant is again planning a deep-fried Christmas turkey dinner with all the fixings – enough to feed six to eight people. If you are not into turkey, roast beef is also offered as a single or family style meal every Sunday. Think house-made mashed potatoes, roasted butternut squash, stuffing, cranberry sauce, horseradish cream, and lots of gravy – with the option to add a pie if you like. (And who doesn’t like pie?) Pre-order your holiday feast any time and pick up on Christmas week. And remember, The Lakeview Restaurant is always open – for take-out, pick-up, or delivery.
Pantry Catering
Pantry began as a small takeout counter, offering fresh and healthy food to Toronto’s local Leslieville community. When people kept coming back for more, they introduced their Hot & Cold Windows and Custom Combo Boxes – so, really, special holiday dinners are just a natural extension. Starting December 18, Pantry will have a Christmas dinner delivery for four, six or 10 people, featuring roast turkey, braised short ribs, sage and brown butter stuffing, maple sweet potato mash, kale and pomegranate salad, sticky toffee pudding and cranberry orange custard pie. Yum.
AGO Bistro
Over at the Art Gallery of Ontario, the AGO Bistro is offering Holiday Take Home Meals that include specially-prepared Christmas dinners and brunches, appetizers as well as a fancy afternoon tea for two – the latter of which features sweets and treats, sparkling wine and Sloane Fine Teas. Check out the Holiday Dinner for Two, New Year’s Day Brunch Kit or one we’re especially looking forward to, the Holiday Hors D’oeuvres Pack, with mushroom arancini with aioli, squash pot stickers with ponzu and mini grilled cheese with apricot chutney. You can pre-order for pick-up in Toronto until January 3.
The Summerhill Market
The Summerhill Market opened in Toronto’s Rosedale neighbourhood way back in 1954, and has become a mainstay of the community ever since. It’s the place you go for your weekly shop or for those unique items that can make any event special. When it comes to holiday meals, it’s the perfect resource for those who prefer to do the cooking (or the heating up) themselves, but who want to make it as easy and as special as possible. Summerhill offers a choose-off-the-menu selector that will help you build the perfect holiday meal for pick up or delivery in Toronto.
McEwan Catering
Mark McEwan is the chef and entrepreneur behind restaurants like Bymark, ONE and Fabbrica. He’s also written bestselling cookbooks and appeared on series like Food Network’s Top Chef. His McEwan Catering offers choose-off-the-menu packages for special events… like holiday feasts, when you don’t feel like cooking. Simply pick your mains, sides and desserts and you’re good to go – think Surf & Turf, Turkey Dinner, Prime Rib, Sturgeon caviar and more. All these chef-inspired dishes will be sure to delight members of your household – and keep you out of the kitchen. Win-win.
The Old Mill
One of the traditional holiday mainstays when it comes to take-out or eat-in dining during the holidays in Toronto is The Old Mill’s Christmas Dinner. This legendary destination traces its history back to Canada’s declaration of war in World War 1 (on August 4, 1914), the day the Old Mill tea garden opened. The rest, as they say, is history, the Old Mill has become known for its amazing buffets and holiday take-aways. That tradition continues in 2020 with the return of Turkey To-Go and Takeout Christmas To-Go menu in time for the holidays, with contactless curb-side pick up.
Pusateri's
Pusateri’s has offered high-quality fare since it launched in 1963. This year, it’s offering both à la Carte menus and Prix Fixe options for the holidays. And, when it comes to à la Carte, they mean it – with platters, starters, mains, sides and desserts. For Hanukkah, think citrus & herb steamed salmon, butternut squash & apple soup, baked fontina, whole roast turkey, herb roasted chicken supremes and so much more. For Christmas, it’s about holiday artisanal cheese & salumi, whole beef tenderloin, apple cider brined turkey breast, wild boar lasagna and so many other choices. Finish either with sticky toffee pudding, tiramisu cake or other sweet options.
