And if you’re wondering how to buy tickets for UP Express, we’ve made it easy! You can pay for UP tickets online, in person at ticket vending machines at UP stations. You can also tap to pay for your UP Express fare using your physical PRESTO card or PRESTO contactless, or PRESTO in Google Wallet.

I Forgot to Tap Off
If you forgot to tap off with your physical PRESTO card, credit card, digital PRESTO card in Google Wallet, debit card, or mobile wallet on phone or watch at an UP Express PRESTO Fare Payment Device, once you reach the final leg of your trip, you will be charged the maximum fare from the station where you initially tapped on.
If your PRESTO card doesn’t have enough funds to cover the full amount, this will be considered an underpayment. The underpayment amount is typically collected the next time you load funds to your PRESTO card or tap-on to begin another trip. If your card doesn’t have a sufficient balance, you will not be able to use your PRESTO card to travel.
If you’re signed up for Autoload and there isn’t a sufficient balance on your PRESTO card to pay the underpayment, an automatic load will be triggered.
If you need to load funds to your PRESTO card on a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM), the TVM will ask you to pay the underpayment as part of the transaction, even if you have a sufficient balance.
Pay or Dispute a Fine
If you were issued a Notice of Violation, you have 15 days to either pay the fine or dispute it. Learn more about your options for paying a fine.
